She's the author of The Best I Can Do: A True Story of Navigating the Complexities of Mental Illness and Homelessness\; Rainbows in the Snow\; and Those Wild Northwest Days\, Second Edition\, Beautiful America's Idaho\, and Beautiful America's Seattle. The Best I Can Do received the Gold Book Award for Nonfiction from Literary Titan\, the Silver Book Award for Nonfiction from the Nonfiction Book Awards\, and honorable mention in the 2025 Books Shelf contest. Cheryl is a technical communications consultant\, mental health advocate\, and volunteer at an animal shelter in Portland.
