North Coast Symphonic Band Reveals Award-Winning Tunes at April 12 Concert Drum roll, please! The North Coast Symphonic Band (NCSB) presents a program of songs, scores, and compositions that have won major accolades and awards at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the Liberty Theatre. The band is conducted by Terry Dahlgren of Warrenton, Oregon. The concert will spotlight music that pays tribute to award-winning composers, entertainers, films, and musicals. In awards show fashion, the excitement will build as selections will be revealed throughout the concert. “Expect an afternoon that will feature many of the greats, past and present!” said Dahlgren. Featured soloists include Laurie Swanson on oboe and Kathleen Strecker on alto saxophone. NCSB Board President Brian Bergman will be the concert’s emcee. Local guitarist Dave Drury will perform concert prelude music from 1:30 to 1:55 PM while the audience gathers. Admission is free for high school students. Middle school students and younger are also admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Regular admission is $15 in advance; $20 the day of the concert. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Liberty Theatre Box Office from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays or online at www.libertyastoria.showare.com. Tickets will also be available at the door starting at noon the day of the concert. The Liberty Theatre is located at the corner of 12th and Commercial streets in Astoria. The North Coast Symphonic Band is composed of local musicians of all ages who enjoy networking, learning from each other, and maintaining their skill levels in a positive and supportive environment. Rehearsals are from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts (PAC) in Astoria.
